Halton Marine brings to the market a new circular fire damper

Lighter, tighter and with more flexibility in dimensions – that is the new Halton Marine circular fire damper FDO.

The brand-new Halton Marine circular fire damper is type-approved class A0(A60) fire damper for use in marine and offshore ventilation systems to prevent the spread of fire inside the ductwork. In the event of temperature rise in a ductwork, fusible link releases and cuts off either voltage to the spring return actuator (in electrical model) or operating pressure to the spring return actuator (pneumatic model), allowing the spring to close the damper blades. In electrical and pneumatic models the fire damper opens automatically, when the fuse has been changed and the voltage to the motor (Halton fire damper type FDO-EL) or pneumatic air supply (Halton fire damper type FDO-PNR) is re-established. Halton fire damper type FDO-SP comes with spring-actuated operation system which requires a manual reset of the fire damper into open position in case the fuse has released.

Lighter, tighter and with more flexibility in dimensions

Halton FDO is a lighter and tighter fire damper than Halton FDD fire damper that has been successfully serving the market for over 15 years. It also offers more flexible dimensions compared to FDD. FDO is available for circular ducts from ø100 mm up to ø500 mm. Sizes starting from ø160 mm can be manufactured with 1 mm division. Special flanges and drilling are still available on request. Halton FDO will be replacing FDD fire damper in the future.

Halton FDO is approved by MED/Bureau Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping, Det Norske Veritas, Lloyd’s Register and Transport Canada. The certificates are available for download on Halton Marine website.

The deliveries for Halton FDO start in the beginning of year 2015 from Halton Marine factory in Lahti, Finland.
