June 04, 2010 The product series designed for Halton by the Finland’s Young Designer of the Year 2010 combines design and functionality in a new way
Halton's new product is technologically a completely new solution for air conditioning cooling and heating. ”We wanted the design to reflect that same freshness as well. We were aiming for solution with a bold design that would combine functionality with design, comments Product Manager Mikko Lietzen from Halton Oy. The product was designed by the winner of the Young Designer of the Year 2010 award, Aivan! design studio. Defining features of Aivan!'s work in general and the Halton co-operation in particular are fascination with a broad range of subjects, curiousness and open-mindedness. Halton's new product is a result of co-operation of experts from different fields. ”It's always the most fun to work with interesting companies with state of the art expertise. With a bold and open-minded attitude as well as mutual transparency, the project advanced smoothly, describes Saku Sysiö from Aivan!, who was in charge of designing the Halton chilled beam series. The Halton novelty is on display at Aivan!'s exhibition at Design Forum Finland, Helsinki. The Young Designer of the Year award was established in 2000 in honour of the 125th anniversary of the Design Forum Finland. This is the ninth time it is given.
