Better city, better life - Halton at World Expo 2010

World EXPO 2010 Shanghai China has been a real gathering of world cultures. After 184 days, the expo is coming to the end on the 31st of October. The scale of the event has been the largest in the history of EXPOs. The venue covers 320 hectares in the heart of the Shanghai metropolis.

The main theme - Better city, better life
The global challenge is how to build sustainable urban life that offers places for people to lead fulfilling lives in dignity, good health, happiness, and hope. EXPO’s main mission is to offer a platform for global dialogue and to show concrete ways to achieve a happier future urban life.
Halton provides indoor environment to the Finnish pavilion, 'the giant's kettle'.  The pavilion is an example of how Finns are building better cities according to the principles of sustainable kuvadevelopment. The pavilion combines creativity, high technology, and culture – a unity that makes for good human life. Halton's mission is to enable wellbeing in indoor environments. Thus Halton and the whole Finnish pavilion share the same main values: better city, better life. Halton enables wellbeing by delivering comfortable, safe and sustainable indoor environments. Competence, innovations and global experience powered by passion for better environments are the basis for reaching good results. Halton indoor environment solutions at the Shanghai EXPO are designed to provide good conditions for users and sustainable building life.

Indoor environment solution
VIP areas in the pavilion's third floor are equipped with Halton's multiservice chilled beams. For the first time, chilled beam system is equipped with LED lighting.

- "The active service beam product family is highly suitable for sustainable construction, and it has proved very popular in Europe. We have long been looking for suitable LED lighting to make it even more energy-efficient. Now we have found it," says Product Manager Mikko Lietzen, from Halton.

Halton also supplied efficient air diffusion system for the exhibition floors.
