Halton supplied UTG shut-off dampers specially designed for demanding arctic conditions to the Novoportovskoye oil and gas field in Russia

The UTG shut-off dampers are designed to shut-off the air intake while the gas turbine is not in operation. Halton supplied UTG shut-off dampers to gas turbines in Novoportovskoye oil and gas field.

Halton feels privileged for being part of The Novy Port project by supplying its UTG shut-off dampers to gas turbines in Novoportovskoye oil and gas field, located in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.

The scope of supply included eight pieces of UTG shut-off dampers (four dampers per a gas turbine), sized 2500 (W) x 1800 (H) mm. Thanks to the efficient blade design of UTG, low torque actuators can be used to save costs and space.

The UTG shut-off dampers are designed to shut-off the air intake while the gas turbine is not in operation. While being in the open position, the blades face the direction of flow and do not cause a significant pressure loss.

The UTG shut-off dampers can withstand challenging arctic conditions. The supplied UTG dampers can operate down to -60°C.

Despite the threat of the Coronavirus, internal arrangements were made for internal non-destructive testing and completion of satisfactory Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with the client. The deadline for delivery was achieved.
