Halton Company works with Bowling Green dentist office to make patients and staff safer by reducing the risk of virus spread.

The moment I read that there is even a slight possibility of COVID-19 being airborne, I reached out to Halton Company for advice, and within a few weeks, I’ve got a UVGI filter unit from them.

American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers, ASHRAE, states: “Transmission of SARS-CoV-2 through the air is sufficiently likely that airborne exposure to the virus should be controlled. Changes to building operations, including the operation of HVAC systems can reduce airborne exposures.” https://www.ashrae.org/technical-resources/filtration-disinfection#airborne

Halton Company, located in Scottsville, KY, has utilized its extensive background in operating and clean rooms ventilation. Addressing the need to help employers and institutions protect patients, employees, and guests, Halton introduces a mobile Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation filtration unit.

This solution developed by Halton will augment other mediation methods such as social distancing, respiratory masks and updated sanitation practices along with human behavior changes (thorough washing of your hands, not touching your face).

UVGI (Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation) has a long history as a tool for minimizing viral spread; it is used extensively in health care segment.

Halton, the global technology leader in indoor air solutions for demanding spaces, has introduced its new product line of surface and air disinfectant devices for commercial applications.  UVGI technology treats air or contaminated surfaces.

“UVGI technology is a deterrent to airborne contaminants. In spaces with lower air change rates, it offers a solution to provide clean air for comfortable and safe respiration.” Says Rick Bagwell, President, Halton Group Americas

Halton’s mobile air cleaning and disinfecting device was recently installed in the Dental offices of Dr. Ransdell in Bowling Green Kentucky to inactivate viruses and clean air from suspended aerosols.  Dr. Ransdell is proactive in dealing with airborne contaminants and Investing in his employees and patients’ safety.

“Our dental equipment creates aerosols – these are tiny water droplets that can be suspended in the air. The moment I read that there is even a slight possibility of COVID-19 being airborne, I reached out to Halton Company for advice, and within a few weeks, I’ve got a UVGI filter unit from them. It’s quiet for the airflow it can handle – up to 1500 cfm and contains both filters to trap small aerosols and UVGI to inactivate viruses and bacteria. The safety of my patients and employees is important for me, and Halton’s UVGI device helps me to achieve this objective.” Dr. Ransdell of explains.

Viruses that are aerosolized and airborne can be suspended in the room air for hours. The Halton Mobile unit can be plugged into a wall outlet and will immediately start cleaning the air from airborne contaminants.

Room air entering the is exposed to high-intensity UV light that inactivates viral, bacterial, and fungal organisms, so they are unable to replicate and potentially cause disease. Whether used in a restaurant, healthcare, or office setting, the effect is the same, filtering and killing the virus that comes in contact with the UVGI light.
