Halton's Buildings and Health operations to focus on demanding, comprehensive solutions
Halton adopted a new strategy in its various business areas in the second half of 2018. Halton Buildings and Health, meaning operations focusing on public and office buildings and hospital and laboratory environments, will focus even more on demanding, comprehensive solutions. The development of solutions in cooperation with customers will also be intensified, while reducing the share of the business focused on product components.
As the role of the product component business was reduced, Halton also divested a plant concentrating on this business in Dunaharaszti, Hungary, at the beginning of January 2019. The plant will continue to operate under the ownership of Halton's long-term local partner, Karl és Társa Kft, which is also a family business. All Halton staff at the Hungary plant will be transferred to the new ownership under their existing terms of employment. Halton's Hungarian sales unit will continue to operate unchanged.
"We want to focus on what we are best at, that is, delivering the market's best and most customer-oriented comprehensive solutions for demanding indoor environments, while ensuring the best conditions in such environments. We will continue to develop our operations in accordance with this strategy," says Halton Director Tommi Rantanen, who is in charge of the strategic business area.
"Our good cooperation will continue with the new owners and the plant in Hungary, and we will still buy high-quality components designed by Halton from them. We also believe that, with the plant operating under new management, it will acquire other international customers and have better opportunities to grow. This is an excellent arrangement for all parties concerned," says Rantanen.
Halton will support the change in ownership with a transition period extending to the end of July 2019.
