Halton have provided Bespoke Passive chilled beams for the above project. These passive chilled beams were designed and manufactured by Halton to exacting architecturally demanding conditions.

The beams are mounted within structural concrete coffers at the new build RCP in the Aldgate area of London. The passive chilled beams have been installed either side of the bespoke up/down lighting and provides cooling the main teaching, dining and auditorium areas of the building.

The building is targeting a betterment in energy consumption of 36% over current Building regulations and is on track to achieve BREEAM Excellent. This is being achieved via the use of mixed mode ventilation with night-time cooling of the exposed concrete structure; exposed passive chilled beams; energy efficient plant and lighting as well as a 100m² photovoltaic array.

Finished in 2019 the building has been shortlisted for the “Corporate Workplace” BCO regional awards 2020.
