Overview
The CFD 01 IMO A Class Fire Damper is engineered to provide reliable fire compartmentation within marine and offshore ventilation systems. Designed for installation in fire-rated bulkheads and decks, the damper helps maintain the integrity of A Class divisions while permitting unrestricted airflow during normal operation. Upon activation, the damper closes to restrict the passage of fire and hot gases through the ductwork, supporting the overall fire protection strategy of the vessel or platform. Its robust design and proven operational reliability make the CFD 01 well suited to demanding offshore, marine, and naval applications.
Key Features
Casing
The damper casing is formed from 3.0 mm thick sheet steel into a rigid channel section to ensure proper alignment of blades and shafts. The CFD-01 is available as a single unit. The available sizes range from 150mm x 150mm to 1000m x 1000mm, and up to 2050mm x 2050mm with the addition of a mullion and transom. Multiple unit assemblies are possible to support restrictive installation environments up to a maximum total size of 2050mm x 2050mm. The insertion length is 300mm.
Blades
The blades are a formed double-skin aerofoil section of 1.5 mm sheet metal and operate with an opposed linkage. Blade stops at the top and bottom of the casing and sprung side seals provide excellent low leakage characteristics.
Seals
- Shaft Seals – EPDM, Nitrile or Viton (depending on application)
- Blade Seals – Intumescent and Silicone
