Ventilation solutions for lng projects
For liquefaction plants, export terminals, receiving terminals, and associated process areas.
Why Halton for LNG projects?

Compliance built in
LNG facilities contain extensive hazardous areas where certified equipment is required. Halton dampers are designed and certified for these environments.

No surprises later
Halton Ex-certified dampers are designed to prevent ignition risks even in fault situations. This helps ensure compliance from the start and avoids costly replacements or delays during commissioning or inspections in LNG projects.
Certified quality
ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ATEX, IECEx, CSA, NEX500 and NEC505 and SIL-certified products.
End-to-end project support
Tailored engineering, testing, documentation and global lifecycle and/or spare part services.

Fire and gas dampers
Fire and gas dampers help isolate ventilation zones to limit the spread of fire, smoke, and hazardous gases. In LNG facilities, ventilation equipment is not just part of the HVAC system. It is part of the safety strategy. Halton fire and gas dampers are designed to support rapid isolation, fire protection, and control of hazardous gas movement in critical ventilation zones.
Gas-tight shut-off dampers
Gas-tight shut-off dampers provide airtight isolation by preventing hazardous gases, smoke, or contaminated air from passing through ventilation systems. They are used to ensure safety, containment, and pressure integrity in demanding environments.

Airflow management dampers
Airflow management dampers regulate, balance, and control air movement within ventilation systems to ensure proper airflow, pressure control, energy efficiency, and indoor safety.
Blast protection dampers
Blast dampers protect LNG facilities by preventing blast overpressure from propagating through ventilation systems, safeguarding critical buildings and safety-critical operations.

Air intakes and droplet separators
Droplet separators remove water droplets and moisture from incoming air to protect equipment and maintain system performance. Halton DSA includes integrated heating for cold and icing conditions.
Louvres allow airflow while preventing rain, debris, and harsh weather elements from entering ventilation openings.

Compliance and standards
ATEX
ATEX refers to European regulations designed to ensure safety in explosive atmospheres where flammable gases, vapors, or dust may be present.
ATEX certification ensures that equipment used in hazardous areas is designed to prevent ignition in explosive atmospheres, supporting safe operation in industries such as LNG and oil & gas.
IECEx
IECEx is an international certification system that ensures equipment is safe to use in explosive atmospheres where flammable gases or dust may be present.
It verifies that products meet globally recognized standards for explosion protection, helping ensure safe operation in hazardous industries such as LNG, oil & gas, and chemical processing. Unlike ATEX, which applies mainly in Europe, IECEx is recognized internationally.
CSA
CSA certification confirms that equipment meets Canadian and North American safety standards, supporting safe use in industrial and hazardous environments such as LNG facilities.
In industries such as LNG, oil & gas, and energy, CSA certification ensures that equipment complies with electrical and hazardous-area safety requirements, helping guarantee safe operation in demanding industrial environments.
NEX500 and NEC505
NEC 500 defines hazardous area classifications in North America using the Class/Division system to ensure equipment can safely operate in environments with explosive gases or dust.
NEC 505 is another hazardous location classification method in the U.S. National Electrical Code, but it uses the Zone system, which aligns more closely with international standards such as ATEX and IECEx. It categorizes areas into Zones (0, 1, 2) based on how frequently explosive atmospheres may occur.
SIL
SIL certification confirms that safety systems meet defined reliability levels to ensure critical safety functions operate when required.
ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001
ISO 9001 is an international standard for quality management systems, ensuring that organizations consistently deliver products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
ISO 14001 is an international standard for environmental management, helping organizations manage their environmental impact and improve sustainability performance.
ISO 45001 is an international standard for occupational health and safety management, designed to improve workplace safety and reduce risks for employees.
LCA/EPD
LCA (Life Cycle Assessment): A method to evaluate the environmental impact of a product across its entire life cycle—from raw materials to end-of-life.
EPD (Environmental Product Declaration): A standardized, third-party verified document that communicates the results of an LCA in a transparent and comparable way.
At Halton we have LCA/EPD data available on selected products.
