Overview

The CFD‑01 IMO H Class Fire Damper is designed to provide reliable fire compartmentation in marine and offshore ventilation systems. Intended for use in areas exposed to hydrocarbon fire risks, the damper helps maintain the integrity of fire‑rated divisions while allowing normal airflow during routine operation.

In a fire event, the damper closes to restrict the spread of fire and hot gases through the ventilation system, supporting the facility’s fire protection strategy. Its robust design and suitability for demanding offshore environments make it ideal for applications requiring hydrocarbon fire resistance.

Key Features

Casing

The damper casing is formed from 3.0 mm thick sheet steel into a rigid channel section to ensure proper alignment of blades and shafts. The CFD-01 is available as a single unit. The available sizes range from 150mm x 150mm to 1000m x 1000mm for bulkhead installations and from 150mm x 150mm to 1000mm x 900mm for deck installations. Larger sizes, 1001mm x 1001mm to 2000mmx 2000mm, include a mullion & transom and are available for both bulkhead and deck installations. The insertion length is 300mm.

Blades

The blades are a formed double-skin aerofoil section of 1.5 mm sheet metal and operate with an opposed linkage. Blade stops at the top and bottom of the casing and sprung side seals provide excellent low leakage characteristics.

Seals

  • Shaft Seals – EPDM, Nitrile or Viton (depending on application)
  • Blade Seals – Intumescent and Silicone
