MSC Cruises S.A., is the world’s largest privately-owned cruise line and market leader in Europe – including the Mediterranean – as well as in South America and South Africa. MSC Preziosa is the latest addition to the MSC Cruises fleet. Built by STX Europe in St. Nazaire, France and delivered in March, 2013. Ever since she has been a familiar sight in many Mediterranean cities and various other dream-like destinations around the world.

Delivered in 2013, MSC Preziosa is the latest addition to MSC Cruises fleet. The ship offers room for up to 4 345 passengers in 1 751 cabins, out of which 80% have an ocean view. The interior is designed in a distinctive Mediterranean atmosphere that is typical for MSC Cruises. The ship itself was built with sustainability in mind. Everything from propulsion to waste disposal was optimized to ensure minimal effect on the environment. Halton delivered a wide range of products to MSC Preziosa. All of them carry Halton’s signature on efficiency and premium quality.

Cabins have been equipped with Halton’s cabin ventilation that is connected in a network. Due to pressure independent operation system, the airflow is maintained and regulated individually; at each cabin. This means increased passenger comfort, as passengers can choose their desired temperature individually through a room thermostat. The cabin ventilation system also contributes to energy efficiency. The system is able to detect if the balcony door is open, or if the passenger is not in the cabin. In this case the system cuts-off the unnecessary cooling or heating. In addition, the Halton Marine supervision system offers an excellent tool for HVAC engineers to control, adjust and monitor the complete cabin ventilation system without the need to enter a cabin.

Galley ventilation hoods are equipped with UV-lights. UV-light eliminates any grease that has not been filtrated by primary mechanical filter. This enables clean ducts, reduced fire risk and improved hygienic conditions.

The safety and security of guests and crew members is paramount to MSC Cruises. MSC Preziosa is equipped with Halton Marine fire dampers. They prevent the possible progression of fire and smoke via the ductwork to other areas of the ship. Halton Marine fire dampers represent quality that has been recognized by the industry and classification societies worldwide. FDB2 is the most widely sold marine fire damper in the world.

Halton Marine is proud to enable wellbeing onboard MSC Preziosa, and proves that comfort and efficiency go hand in hand.
