Halton Marine Oy’s Operations Comply with OHSAS 18001

During the past year Halton Marine Oy has been building occupational health and safety management system according to standard OHSAS 18001:2007, and the development of system and safety culture has now been rewarded with the certificate.

OHSAS 18001 is an international and the most important and well-known standard for occupational health and safety (OHS) management. It has been designed to provide framework for OHS policy and targets. This framework is based on the management principles of: Plan-Do-Check-Act.

OHSAS 18001 measures management from different views. It requires the organization to investigate and identify health and safety risks related to activities and products/services, to carry out risk assessment, and to act effectively to improve performance.

OHSAS 18001 assures that the organization has health & safety management under precise control and the organization protects the health, safety and well-being of employees.
