Halton delivers to Scandlines’ hybrid ferry “Berlin”

Scandlines, a major German-Danish ferry operator, owns the largest fleet of hybrid ferries in the world. A new hybrid ferry named Berlin has joined the Rostock, Germany –Gedser, Denmark route recently.

Scandlines, a major German-Danish ferry operator, owns the largest fleet of hybrid ferries in the world. A new hybrid ferry named Berlin has joined the Rostock, Germany –Gedser, Denmark route recently.

M/F Berlin is 169.5m long and 25.4 wide offering 1,600 loading metres which means space for 460 cars or 96 lorries. The ferry has capacity for 1,300 passengers who can enjoy of the ships different areas and pleasing interiors during the crossing.

Halton’s scope of supply

Safety is the number one priority on board ship. The ventilation ducts of M/F Berlin are secured with Halton Marine high-quality fire dampers FDB2, FDL, FDD and FDO that prevent fire progression in a ventilation ductwork in case of fire.
The UTG, UTT, PRA dampers are used for controlling and managing the airflows.
