Halton Marine supplied high-quality dampers for MV Tennor Ocean, a 210-meter-long roll-on/roll-off ferry

MV Tennor Ocean, a 210-meter-long roll-on/roll-off ferry intended for freight traffic, is equipped with Halton’s FDL fire dampers and UTG gastight shut-off dampers.

MV Tennor Ocean is a type 4100 roll-on/roll-off ferry developed and built by the German shipbuilding company Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) in 2022. With an overall length of 210 meters and a beam of 26 meters, the ferry has a carrying capacity of 32,770 gross tonnages.

MV Tennor Ocean can accommodate approximately 279 truck trailers on its four decks, providing a total area of more than 4,000 lane meters. The ferry is equipped with a newly developed 2.11-meter-high folding mast, which allows the vessel to pass through the Kiel Canal. The Kiel Canal has a maximum mast height restriction of 40 meters above the water level to prevent damage to bridges or power lines.

Halton Marine supplied its type-approved class A0(A60) FDL fire dampers and UTG gastight shut-off dampers for MV Tennor Ocean. The FDL fire dampers are designed to prevent the spread of fire through the ventilation system in the event of a fire. The UTG gastight shut-off dampers are used to balance airflow rates in high-pressure ductwork and shut off the ventilation ducts in case of emergencies.

The supply of top-quality dampers by Halton Marine is a testament to its commitment to providing top-quality marine HVAC products that ensure the safety and comfort of people on board vessels. Halton Marine’s dampers are widely used in marine and offshore environments worldwide, and the company’s expertise in the field has made it a trusted supplier for the marine industry.
