UZ Gent is one of the largest and most specialized hospitals in Flanders with over 3,000 patients a day and more than 6,000 employees. Patients can go there for a full range of highly specialized, high-quality care.
The Halton Vita OR Space solution is installed in the new hybrid operating theatre of the university hospital of Gent. The goal was to create an ultra-clean environment in the entire operating room. Not only focusing on the wound area of the patient, but also on other critical zones located outside of the operating area like for example instrument tables.
A hybrid surgery room, where minimally-invasive surgery is performed, requires imaging techniques that can visualize, in detail, smaller body parts such as thin vessels on the heart muscle.
The main issue is the air cleanliness in all the critical zones. What you don’t want is any contaminating particles entering the body of the patient. You need to be sure, that, for whatever procedure you do, all the critical zones are ultra clean. Halton Vita OR Space meets these expectations, ensuring cleanliness in the whole operating room.
