Halton Cabin Unit: Precision Comfort for Every Shipboard Space

August 19, 2025

Within the closed yet diversified spatial system of a vessel, environmental needs shift dramatically across zones. Crew cabins demand compact layouts coupled with essential ventilation, passenger cabins prioritize consistent climate control and quiet operation, while suites call for personalized adjustment and premium configurations.  Halton cabin units improve onboard comfort with application-specific designs and user-friendly controls, backed by proven know-how in cabin ventilation systems.

Crew Cabins: Efficient Space-Optimized Solutions

As the primary living quarters for vessel operations, crew cabins demand compact and reliable cabin ventilation systems to withstand continuous use within confined spaces. Halton HMM is a manually operated single-duct cabin unit designed for crew cabins. Airflow is controlled via an adjusting knob installed on the diffuser. The airflow range of 0-500 m³/h can be preset during commissioning, accommodating cabin pressure environments from 50 to 1000 Pa. Halton HMM can be supplied with reheaters, available with power adjustment from 400 to 1800W(Halton China factory), delivering rapid cabin temperature recovery in cold climate operations. Halton HMM is MED approved for B-0/B-15 installations, providing core safety protection for accommodation areas and medium-risk zones on ships.

Deluxe cabins and suites: High-Quality Experience Powered by Intelligent Regulation

Deluxe cabins and suites, as the vessel’s high-end accommodations, demand more refined environmental comfort standards.Halton HFR/M is pressure independent or pressure dependent single duct cabin unit with 1-3 outlet connections for terminal units, with an airflow range from 175-1000m³/h. Pressure independent VAV or CAV operation is facilitated by continuous airflow measurement and damper regulation by intelligent controller. This intelligent regulation system guarantees passengers experience land-equivalent comfort for the entire journey.

Public spaces: Balancing Efficiency and Environmental Sustainability

Public areas on ships, such as offices and meeting rooms, require efficient ventilation systems to maintain air quality while minimizing their impact on the shared environment. Halton HME operates as a plenum box with a balancing and measurement module inside, which can be used for air distribution and sound attenuation in various applications, ensuring minimal disruption to public activities. For fire safety compliance, Halton HME is MED approved for B-0/B-15 installation, guaranteeing reliable operation in high-occupancy spaces.

Halton’s cabin units have been designed specifically for cabins and other similar areas on board ships and offshore installations. These units control the temperature, humidity, and air quality, ensuring a comfortable and healthy environment for occupants. They are designed to cater to various cabin layouts and sizes, with the capability to adjust settings according to individual preferences.
