When Food Service Consultant, A Day in Life, Saint John, NB approached Halton, they had very specific requirements for the teaching environment. They wanted open site lines as well as low noise levels. With traditional canopy hoods, this is a near-impossible task. The Halton Ventilated Ceiling System met the critical design criteria.  The system is able to preserve open sightlines and to provide quiet operation.  Adding to the positive feedback was the newly configured exhaust pod design, which made installation much more straightforward and allowed for heavier cooking loads. Coordinating the mechanical infrastructure design with the Mechanical Engineering Design firm, Dumac, Bedford, NS ensured seamless integration. The institution is so pleased with the outcome that they have ordered another Halton Ventilated Ceiling System for their Strait Campus in Halifax, NS, and have proposed a third one yet to come.
