Mardi Gras
Carnival Cruise Line’s newest, largest and most innovative ship to date, Mardi Gras, sails with Halton Marine’s superior products and solutions, including galley hoods, canopies and dampers.
Mardi Gras is the first cruise ship in North America to be powered by eco-friendly Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), which significantly reduces sulphur, nitrogen and carbon dioxide emissions compared to traditional fuel oil engines.
As part of Carnival’s highly anticipated return to guest operations, Mardi Gras began its seven-day Caribbean cruises on July 31, 2021.
More than 200 pieces of galley hoods and canopies were installed in galleys and restaurants of Mardi Gras, including the ship’s main galley and more than 25 restaurants on 8 decks.
The world’s best-selling marine dampers of their kind, FDB2 fire and gas dampers, were installed in Mardi Gras to improve fire safety on board. Fire and gas dampers protect people and equipment in the event of a fire by preventing the progression of fire, smoke and gas via the duct system to other areas of the ship.
