No, we did not really take a time-out! The challenges were to supply and install Halton products to the world’s first editorially curated food and cultural market, the Time Out Market – “the best of the city under one roof.”
The first Time Out Market opened in 2014 in a historic market hall in Lisbon, quickly turning into the most popular destination in the city with 4 million visitors a year.
The success of Lisbon brought further expansion in North America, with Time Out Market opening in five major cities in 2019: Miami, New York, Boston, Montreal and Chicago.
In 2021, Time Out Market expanded into the Middle East with Time Out Market Dubai. It is located in Souk Al Bahar, an Arabic-style retail, entertainment and dining destination right at the heart of Downtown Dubai.
With a unique waterfront position on Burj Lake, next to The Dubai Mall and the iconic Burj Khalifa, this is one of the region’s prime destinations, attracting millions of visitors each year.
Time Out Market Dubai was initially expected to open late 2020 or beginning 2021, however the Covid-19 pandemic happened and since then it has become a challenging time.
It showcases 17 handpicked selections of innovative, home-grown concepts, which includes: MASTI, BB Social Dining, Vietnamese Foodies, Pickl, Pitfire, Brix by 3fils, Nightjar, Reif Japanese Kushiyaki, Little Erth, Scoopi Café, Long Teng, and Al Fanar. Five incredible, brand-new concepts were also launched including Folly Workshop by Nick & Scott, Fulvio’s, Two Leaves by Project Chaiwala, Local Fire by The Mattar Farm and Liban by Allo Beirut.
We started working on this with Alan Clayton Design (Consultant) for the initial design stage and later it was awarded to Chef’s First Equipment Trading (Kitchen Contractor) who then have placed the order to us in November 2020.
A total of 29 units of our Halton hoods and 6 M.A.R.V.E.L systems were supplied and installed in this project with order consisted of hood models UVI, UVF, KVI, KVV, CMW-MUAP-CJ and M.A.R.V.E.L.
Success wouldn’t be as sweet if we have not struggled completing this project. As a matter of fact, we have also faced different challenges during the installation and pre-commissioning stages but of course with the expertise of our technical team, we have accomplished and handed over the project on time.
The project was successfully commissioned in March 2021!
